Sezen Aksu is one of most popular singer in Turkey. She had (not anymore) (in my humble opinion) a wonderfull voice. Especially between years 1975 – 1990 she had great albums… Ali is an interesting song that she sang in 80′s…

The song is sung by a woman who loves a man in a village. This man loves another woman who loves o forth man. I know it is  kinda strange. But most of tragedies are like this right? This middleman’s name is Ali.

The singer begins the song with Ali’s praise. She sais dont play with the trigger you have some time to shoot. We understand that he is setting up an ambush. As far as i understand the woman is much more younger than Ali. The singer sais that she is raised by Ali if this is not a metaphor that i dont know. Bu she is gone (like a rosebud which offers itself to others). She (the singer) probably set Ali against the girl.

Girl, laying the other’s arms, singer asks Ali to shoot her. But Ali… Shoots himself instead of the girl. And the singer sais on and on, you shot yourself instead of shooting the bitch…
