Author's Description:
This is the song for common traditional wedding ceremonies in Turkey. In our traditions, before the wedding girls get together for an event called henna ceremony. Girls in the family put some henna on bride’s hand. As you may know, henna stays one’s hand about 3-4 months. It is believed that once there is no henna on bride’s hand, she wont miss anymore. So the bride, after the ceremony checks constantly her hands.
This song is abot a girl who married a guy living far. Once married they left her village and the husband never let her wife to visit her family. Despite their love, the bride missed her family so much that she got sick singing that song. The husband trying to correct his fault, tried to get the bride’s family but it’s too late: She died on their hands…
The lyrics are like this:
Dont they build houses on high mounains, dont they send brides to far countries. Dont they depreciate her mothers beloved daughter… May the birds presage, i am missing my mother. My mother, my father, i miss all my village…
May my father had a horse to ride and find me. May my mother set sail to reach me. May my brothers and sisters find my way… May the birds presage, i am missing my mother. My mother, my father, i miss all my village…

your description of the song is really helpful. Can I get hold of sheet music? The tune is so haunting and sad. Hope you can help.
